Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today announced to began resuming tertiary care facilities at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC)in phased manner as the number of vacant beds in different hospitals is on rise.
He was talking to reporters after chairing Experts’ Committee meeting on COVID-19.
Rane said that with large number of people opting for Home Isolation has left the facilities vacant in the state.
“Dean of GMC will draw a plan to resume the tertiary medical activities in the state in a phased manner,” Rane said.
Minister also said that the classes for MBBS course in the GMC will also be resumed after taking consent from parents and the students.
He said that the classes are currently going on via a online mode.
