While Sawant can say he had just taken over that year, it would be interesting to know what explanation the Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has for the worst ranking.
The ranking means a total failure of the Health Ministry.
The Chief Minister quickly tweeted Goa being adjudged the best-performing State in many sectors just two days ago. But even after hours of the Niti Ayog release today, there has been no reaction from CM or HM.
After all, these two people are solely responsible for the crumbling infrastructure in the State.
These two were responsible for the deaths of 1700-odd innocent Goans, who died an untimely death this May due to a shortage of Oxygen.

On Monday, the Niti Ayog released the fourth Health Index of Indian states wherein Goa was the worst-performing State.
Kerala has again emerged as the top-ranking State of overall health performance among larger states, while Uttar Pradesh is the worst.
The fourth round of the Health Index took into account the period 2019-20 (reference year).
Goa, with -12.68 points, has dropped down to the fourth rank from rank two previously, while Goa’s incremental rank is 8.
The report has been prepared in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with technical assistance from the World Bank.
This means that Goa had the worst health infrastructure and medical facilities in India in 2019-20 when Dr Pramod Sawant took over as the Chief Minister of Goa from the late Manohar Parrikar.
While Sawant can say he had just taken over that year, it would be interesting to know what explanation the Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has for the worst ranking.
The ranking means a total failure of the Health Ministry.

After all, these two people are solely responsible for the crumbling infrastructure in the State.
These two were responsible for the deaths of 1700-odd innocent Goans, who died an untimely death this May due to a shortage of Oxygen.
Not just shortage of Oxygen, relatives struggled to get a bed for their loved ones, and the CM and Health Minister provided no help.
Even during a pandemic where people struggled to make two ends meet, the Health Minister of Goa was involved in a major scam – the Ventilator Scam. Not just Ventilator, the HM and his government were also involved in a multi-crore COVID19 purchase scam.
Even now, as the Omicron threat looms large over Goa, the politicians may see this as another opportunity to make some quick money just ahead of the Code of conduct for the 2022 Assembly elections that come into force.
The Health Index of Niti Ayog also gives us to know how the more significant projects are the government’s priority instead of Health infrastructure and people’s lives.
The CM boasts of the best medical facilities available at Goa Medical College. But CM, sir, if that is so, why do thousands die in the same hospital for the shortage of medical facilities? Why lives of innocent Goans is not your priority? Why no action was initiated in the Covid 19 purchase scam? Why did you allow your minister to make money at the cost of people lives?
As the elections approach closer, people must understand that COVID19 is going nowhere soon, and different variants will keep coming until medicines are developed.
Goans have to now decide whether they want the same people, who messed up in 2021, to remain at the helm, 2022 to manage Goa and pandemics like COVID19, or we choose new and honest people; who care for the lives of every Goans irrespective of caste and creed?
