PANAJI: With Dengue cases on the rise, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that he has directed Secretary Health to hold a review meeting with Medical Superintendents and Health Officers to ensure that all Dengue patients’ platelets are thoroughly monitored.
“The Secretary of Health has been directed to hold a review meeting with Medical Superintendents and Health Officers to ensure that all Dengue patients’ platelets are thoroughly monitored,” said Rane.
He further said platelets drop in dengue fever, so proper monitoring is essential.
“GMC will provide the necessary backup for treatment at peripheral centres, Sub-District and District Hospitals,” he added.
Rane said that it was his responsibility to ensure that proper beds are available for patients who come to Goa Medical College and Hospital.
“I will make certain that no patients are left on the floor and that they are provided with beds and the necessary care,” the minister assured.
He further said that this government is the people’s government and that government will provide all the support to the team at GMC and doctors in the peripheral centres in providing proper patient care.
