MORMUGAO: Mormugao Police have registered a case against three persons for allegedly stealing gold jewellery worth approximately ₹14 lakh from a residence in Mormugao.
The case was registered based on a complaint filed by Muskan Sheikh, who alleged that the theft took place between 12:30 p.m. on May 29, 2026, and 1:00 p.m. on June 2, 2026.
According to the complaint, the accused—Sadaf Fatima Sajjad Satvilkar and Shahid alias Istiyaq Shaikh, both residents of Mormugao, and Anirban Biswas of Margao—acted with a common intention to commit the theft.
The stolen valuables allegedly include a 38.90-gram gold necklace, a pair of 12-gram gold earrings, a 31-gram mangalsutra belonging to the complainant’s sister-in-law, Simran Shaikh, and an 8-gram gold locket belonging to the complainant.
The jewellery, collectively valued at around ₹14 lakh, was reportedly kept in a cupboard at the residence.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Saidatta Naik of Mormugao Police Station.
