MOLLEM: Three persons were caught allegedly transporting beef illegally for sale at Nandran in Mollem, Dharbandora, police said.
According to a complaint lodged by Krishna Gaonkar, Veterinary Officer at the Veterinary Dispensary, Mollem, the incident came to light on July 14, 2025, before 4 p.m. The accused have been identified as Muzafar Ali Bepari, Yazan Bepari and Aman Bepari, all residents of Uppar Bazar, Ponda.
Police said the trio was allegedly caught red-handed while transporting beef in an Eco car and an Activa scooter. The meat was reportedly brought from Belagavi, Karnataka, for sale without possessing valid documents issued by the competent authority.
Based on the complaint, Collem Police registered a case against the accused under the relevant provisions of law.
