MOLLEM: A fatal road accident was reported at Anmod Ghat on June 14 morning after a tipper truck reportedly lost control and fell into a valley, resulting in the death of its driver.
According to police information, Head Constable Tulshidas Gaonkar (HC 5432) of BCP Mollem informed authorities at around 6.45 am that a tipper truck had met with a self-accident at Anmod Ghat and that the driver had succumbed to his injuries.
Upon reaching the spot and conducting an enquiry, police confirmed that the driver, identified as Tapash Mistri (33), a resident of Sukantapalli, Dakshin Chatra in West Bengal, died in the accident.
An inquest panchanama was conducted over the body, which was later preserved at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for medico-legal formalities.
Collem Police have registered the case and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Rohan Naik of Collem Police Station.
