PANAJI: The Office of the Mamlatdar of Tiswadi Taluka has issued a public auction notice for the sale of two vehicles as part of revenue recovery proceedings to recover alleged misappropriated funds linked to the Morombi O Grande Tenant Association.
According to the proclamation dated July 29, 2026, the government is seeking to recover an outstanding amount of ₹44,56,368. The notice states that the total recovery amount was ₹59,22,500, of which ₹14,66,132 has already been recovered, leaving the balance outstanding.
The recovery proceedings arise from an order passed by the High Court in Writ Petition No. 352 of 2023 concerning the alleged misappropriation of government funds by the Managing Committee of the Morombi O Grande Tenant Association during its tenure.
As part of the recovery process, the Mamlatdar has ordered the auction of a Maruti WagonR (Registration No. GA07C4578) belonging to Nicolau J. C. Monteiro of Merces and a Honda Activa scooter (Registration No. GA07A7687) belonging to Nicolau Nunes of Merces.
The auction is scheduled to be held on August 19, 2026, at 3.30 pm in the Chamber of the Mamlatdar of Tiswadi at the Collectorate Building, Panaji.
The notice states that the sale will be conducted on an “as is, where is” basis. Interested bidders must submit the required KYC documents and deposit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹10,000 before participating. The successful bidder will have to immediately deposit 25 per cent of the bid amount, while all expenses relating to vehicle transfer, insurance, taxes and other charges will be borne by the purchaser.
The proclamation further states that if the outstanding dues are paid before the auction date, the sale proceedings may not be carried out.
