PANAJI: The Department of Tourism has directed all C and D category hotels registered in Goa to ensure timely submission of tourist check-in data through the TIME (Tourist Information Management Enterprise) application.
The department reiterated that submission of guest data is mandatory under the Goa Tourist Trade Registration Act. Despite repeated reminders, several establishments have failed to comply, affecting effective tourism management and monitoring.
Authorities have warned that failure to submit the required data will attract penalties and fines as per provisions of the Act.
The department has also flagged that a number of hotels and guest houses are operating without valid registration licences. Such unauthorised operations will face strict action, including closure and legal proceedings.
It further clarified that individuals offering accommodation through platforms like Airbnb and similar short-term rental services must also register with the Department of Tourism, failing which action will be initiated.
Officials will conduct inspections and site visits across the state to verify compliance with data submission, registration validity, and other tourism regulations.
The department has urged all stakeholders to cooperate and adhere to the rules to ensure smooth functioning and sustainable development of tourism in Goa.
