PANAJI: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state on the ocasion of closing ceremony of World Ayurveda Congress, the Traffic Police have announced a diversion from 1 pm till the VVIP movement is over.
The VVIP movement will be likely travelling from Goa Uni- versity to NIO-Miramar-Kala Academy to attend the event.
The diversion comes at a time when the city residents are already facing an intol- erable situation owing to road and sewerage works, taking place simultaneously across several main roads and by-lanes.
The road from SPM Stadium Goa University route to NIO Circle to Miramar circle and Kala Academy junction will be closed for vehicular traf- fic from 1 pm till VVIP leaves.
The incoming traffic to Panaji city shall be diverted on DB Marg at Dayanand Bandodkar Statue and Panaji Ferry wharf junction to proceed towards MG Road and further towards their destination.
The vehicles proceed- ing from Alvao side towards Panaji-Taleigao will take old Caranzalem road and shall be diverted at Adarsh Circle – St Minguel School Madhu- ban complex junction via St Inez junction/Tambdi Mati junction towards four pillar junction if they intend to exit Panaji city.
Vehicles proceedings from St Inez towards Taleigao/ Bhatulem will be diverted to take left near Bashik House and proceed further.
