MAPUSA: Anjuna Police have arrested two persons in connection with a theft at a rented villa in Arpora and recovered stolen property worth ₹1.6 lakh, including a premium mobile phone and a laptop.
According to police, the case was registered as Anjuna Police Station Crime No. 56/2026 under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, based on a complaint filed by Chintan Rajeshkumar Bhansali, a resident of Mumbai.
The complainant reported that between 1.30 am and 4.00 am on June 15, an unidentified individual allegedly entered Love Story Villa No. 03 at Baga-Arpora while he and his friend were asleep and stole a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 mobile phone and a Lenovo Flex 5 laptop before fleeing the scene.
The theft resulted in a loss of approximately ₹1.6 lakh to the complainant and his friend, Ashik Shah.
During the course of the investigation, police identified and arrested two accused — Sunil Chawan (22), originally from Gadag, Karnataka, and currently employed in Anjuna, and Vinod Naik (23), a delivery executive residing in Calangute and originally from Maharashtra.
Both accused were arrested on June 20 at around 2.40 pm.
Police subsequently recovered the stolen Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 mobile phone and Lenovo Flex 5 laptop, collectively valued at ₹1.6 lakh.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Swapnil Naik of Anjuna Police Station.
