MAPUSA: Two girl students from a higher secondary school in Colvale were admitted to the Mapusa District Hospital after they allegedly consumed five iron tablets each instead of taking the prescribed one tablet per week under a school health programme.
According to sources, the iron tablets had been distributed to students as part of a government health initiative. The two students reportedly consumed five tablets each, believing they had to be taken at once.
Soon after, both girls began vomiting and complained of uneasiness, prompting school authorities to rush them to the Mapusa District Hospital for medical treatment.
Hospital sources said the students are in stable condition and have been kept under observation as a precaution.
