NORTH GOA: Police have registered two separate road accident cases in North Goa involving four two-wheelers, with three riders sustaining injuries in the incidents reported at Old Goa and Saligao.
In the Old Goa case, the accident occurred at around 11.40 pm on August 14 near Bharat Petrol Pump on NH 748, Kadamba Road. According to police, Malik Kagnali, 23, was riding a Splendor motorcycle from Old Goa towards Panaji when he allegedly entered a one-way stretch meant for traffic travelling in the opposite direction.
Police said that on reaching near the petrol pump, Kagnali’s motorcycle collided with another Splendor bearing registration number MP-30-ZD-2678, which was being ridden from Panaji towards Old Goa by Deepak Bhan Singh, 24, of St Inez, originally from Madhya Pradesh.
Singh sustained an injury to his left leg and is undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College, Bambolim. Kagnali also sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at GMC.
The case was registered on August 17 on a state complaint by HC Yogesh Palni of Old Goa Police Station.
In a separate incident at Chogam Road, Bardez, on July 19, Jacob John was allegedly riding a Vespa SXL scooter from Arpora towards Vasco when he lost control of the vehicle near Bhonsle Café and collided with an Activa 6G ridden by Vedang Sandip Phadake, 29, who was proceeding towards Panaji.
John fell onto the road following the collision and sustained bodily injuries. Saligao Police registered the case on August 17 based on a state complaint by HC Amit R. Naik.
Police are investigating both incidents.
