SANGUEM: A road accident at Vorcotto, Cotarli in Sanguem left three persons injured after a Royal Enfield motorcycle allegedly collided with a scooter at a three-road junction, police said.
According to ASI Ramdas Gaonkar of Sanguem Police Station, the incident occurred at around 2:40 pm when accused rider Clevan Fernandes, resident of Curchorem, was proceeding on a Royal Enfield motorcycle from Cotarlim towards Dando, Sanguem. Upon reaching the T-junction at Vorcotto, the motorcycle allegedly dashed against an Activa scooter coming from Dando towards Molcornem, Quepem.
As a result of the collision, scooter rider Prema Gaonkar, resident of Kevona, Colomba, Sanguem, and motorcycle rider Clevan Fernandes sustained injuries. Both were shifted to South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for medical treatment.
The pillion rider of the motorcycle, Miheer Kurtarkar, resident of Bagwada, Sanvordem, also sustained simple injuries in the accident.
Police stated that further investigation into the incident is being conducted by ASI Ramdas Gaonkar, Sanguem Police Station, to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the crash.
