SIOLIM: Anjuna Police arrested a 58-year-old United Kingdom national after allegedly finding him in illegal possession of suspected psychotropic drug Ecstasy near the football ground at Marna Wado, Siolim, Bardez-Goa.
According to police, the action was carried out on August 25, 2026, between 9.30 pm and 11.30 pm following specific and reliable information. The accused, identified as John Hepworth, presently residing in Arambol, Pernem, was allegedly found carrying four blue-coloured tablets weighing 1.85 grams and suspected to be Ecstasy, with an approximate value of ₹40,000.
Police said the suspected drug was concealed inside a pink-coloured pouch. The tablets and other exhibits were seized under a search panchanama after following the mandatory provisions of the NDPS Act.
Hepworth was placed under arrest at 12.53 am on August 26 after being informed of the grounds and reasons for his arrest.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Saish Shetgaonkar of Anjuna Police Station.
