Vasco: Vasco Railway Police have registered a case of unnatural death after an unidentified male body was found lying on the railway tracks between Sancoale and Vasco railway station.
According to officials, the information was first relayed by the Deputy Station Manager of Vasco, prompting immediate response from the Vasco Railway Police. Upon visiting the location, officers found the body of a male, aged approximately 45 to 50 years, lying on the tracks.
The deceased is described as having a thin build, whitish complexion, and a height of around 5 feet 6 inches. At the time of discovery, he was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt and black formal pants.
Initial inquiry suggests that the individual may have died while walking or attempting to cross the railway track. However, exact details regarding the circumstances of his death are yet to be established.
The body has been sent to South Goa District Hospital, Margao, where it has been preserved for identification and further medico-legal formalities. Authorities have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the deceased.
Vasco Railway Police have registered the case as an unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The enquiry is being conducted by PSI Krishna Talpi under the supervision of PI Amarnath Passi and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
