MARGAO: An unidentified man was found lying unconscious near the JMFC Court in Margao and was later declared brought dead at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), police said.
According to Fatorda Police, they received information from the casualty police at around 1.31 pm on June 26 that an unknown male had been brought dead to the hospital.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the man was found unconscious near the JMFC Court in Margao and was shifted to SGDH by the 108 emergency ambulance service. Doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
Police have preserved the body to complete the necessary medico-legal formalities and establish the deceased’s identity.
During inquiries at the scene, police learned that the deceased was reportedly seen begging in the SGPDA Market area of Margao before he was found unconscious.
Further inquiry is being conducted by PSI Sanil Sawant Dessai of Fatorda Police Station.
