VASCO: In a bid to prevent cases of drunken driving, Vasco traffic cell on Thursday launched a drive to randomly check motorists for alcohol content in a breath sample using alcometers
Vasco traffic cell PI Shailesh Narvekar said that the drive began with random checks on Bus drivers on different routes in port Town
“We carried out a special drive against drunken driving. While we usually check two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers, we decided to check the drivers of private buses and Kadamba buses today for alcohol content. We have even warned the drivers that we will regularly check for drunken driving and most stringent action will be initiated if anyone is found driving under the influence of alcohol. We will continue this drive and start random checking against everyone from tomorrow as a measure to avoid cases of drunken driving in Vasco,” said Narvekar.
