PANAJI: MLA Yuri Alemao has raised serious concerns over the alleged sale and circulation of drugs in Goa, questioning how narcotics continue to reach the state despite enforcement measures.
Alemao alleged links between some Colvale Jail inmates, police personnel and politicians, and questioned whether proper checking is being carried out at the jail.
He said the issue of drugs and the wider law-and-order situation will be raised in the Assembly, calling for strict action against those involved.
Alemao also alleged that unofficial check posts continue to function in Goa and urged Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to look into the alleged corruption.
On the pothole issue, Alemao said the campaign would be taken forward and that whatever is required in the interest of Goa would be done.
