VALPOI: In a swift inter-state operation, Valpoi Police apprehended a kidnapping accused wanted in Bihar and successfully rescued the victim, officials said.
The accused, identified as Mithun Kumar, a resident of Begusarai, Bihar, was wanted in Singhaul Police Station Crime No. 124/2026 registered under Sections 96, 137(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in a kidnapping case.
Acting on inputs, Valpoi Police staff traced and apprehended the accused within their jurisdiction. During the operation, the victim was also safely rescued.
Police said both the accused and the rescued victim were later handed over to Singhaul Police Station, Bihar Police, for further legal proceedings and investigation.
