VASCO: While the Mopa International Airport is soon to be inaugurated, the situation at the current Dabolim airport seems to be getting from bad to worse.
Though a small airport, the rush on the weekends seems to be getting out of control and as such, the CISF is unable to handle teh load, say passengers.
The apparent mismanagement in the security check at Goa airport is giving a tough time to the fliers, they say. Long queues of fliers were seen at the entry gate of the airport on Sunday, pointing towards the fact that the CISF cannot handle the security management at the airport.
More than 100 passengers were getting upset in a single queue, and it took them more than 45 to 60 minutes to enter the airport.
Tourists coming to Goa were seen upset due to the chaos at the airport. The Ministry of Tourism needs to take up the issue with the CISF, passengers told Goemkarponn.
“It took us more time to enter the terminal from the gate then the taxi ride from Calangute,” quipped a passenger.
Another said, “despite telling the CISF we are getting delayed for the flight, they ignored our requests”.
Meanwhile, the Goa Airport has tweeted that the CISF is doing an exemplary job at the airport.
“CISF has done an exemplary job at the airport by restoring a bag containing Cash & Gold worth Rs 4.5 lakh to its rightful owner,” AAI tweeted.
