VASCO: Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar on Monday morning said that the long pending project of the Chief Officer bungalow may sooon be taken up after the Mormugao Municipal Council ( MMC ) has got the Naval NOC for the project.
Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar was speaking to reporters while launching the works on pavers worth rs 15 Lakhs at Mestawada in the presence of Ward Councillor Girish Borker and others.
“The pavers works are a part of the 15th finance commission, and work under the 15th finance has been taken across all wards without any bias or partiality. These pavers were the need of the hour in this area and will help the people,” he said.
Salkar stated the work on the new fish market is nearing completion, while the work on the Baina powerhouse has also begun, and we will shift the people within 15 days to a new location.
“We have also got the Naval NOC for the long pending Chief Officer Bungalow project, and the plans for this project will be passed within another 15 days,” said Salkar.
Ward councillor Girish Borker said the works under the 15th finance commission had been taken up across his ward from Belabai to Orulem and finally in Mestawada.
“The people had been demanding pavers for over 40 years, and we have fulfilled another demand. Another long pending issue is about a sewerage line, and we have managed to pass the project, and lands have been acquired for setting up a sewage pumping station that will resolve the issue permanently,” said Borker.
