VASCO: Transport minister Mauvin Godinho on Thursday said that Goa had all the infrastructure that can develop Goa into a trade and logistics hub.
Godinho was speaking to reporters along with the Panchas and Sarpanch of Bogmalo Panchayat to announce the assessment and enhancement of Taxes adopted by the Bogmalo Panchayat.
“Every panchayat was given a directive to collect taxes and pending due and take steps to collect all revenue to make themselves self-sustainable, and Bogmalo Panchayat has become the first panchayat to take people in confidence and get a Gramsabha to implement an assessment and enhancement of Taxes,” he said.
Godinho said Bogmalo Panchayat should be complimented for the great work being done, especially for works on Bogmalo football ground in association with FC Goa.
“The new panchayat Ghar will be taken up here, and for the first time in 17 years, we have cleaned a major Nullah to prevent flooding besides having a new transformer,” he said.
The Minister stated that the majority of schemes are being availed by Bogmalo residents, and we have also developed the beachside road that had collapsed.
“We have now got a new toilet facility, a good road with seating benches and aesthetic lighting. The Bogmalo Panchayat is also doing excellent work in their MRF Shed,” said Godinho.
“I want to make Goa the trading hub in this part of the world because Goa is blessed with everything, and we have two railways, two airports, one natural harbour and broad highways. The second arm of the New Zuari Bridge will be ready by October end and help us further,” said Godinho.
