MARGAO: A 35-year-old woman from Comba, Margao, died after allegedly jumping from the terrace of a four-storey building in Margao on Saturday evening.
According to Margao Town Police, a phone call was received at around 7:12 pm on July 5 informing them that the woman, identified as Ashma Gaundalkar, had jumped from a building in Comba.
Police rushed to the spot and, during the enquiry, found that the woman had allegedly gone to the terrace on the fourth floor of the building before jumping. She was shifted to South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, by a 108 ambulance, where the on-duty doctor declared her brought dead.
The body was sent for a post-mortem examination at SGDH. The police surgeon certified the cause of death as damage to the head, chest, abdomen and spine, along with injuries to vital organs and multiple bone fractures, consistent with blunt force impact in an alleged fall from a height.
After the post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family for the last rites. The enquiry is being conducted by LPSI Anushka Parab of Margao Town Police Station.
