CURCHOREM: Curchorem Police have registered a case following a complaint by a woman alleging that she was subjected to obscene, abusive, and religion-based harassment through Instagram.
According to the complaint filed by the lady complainant (name withheld), the incident occurred on June 10, 2026, when an unknown person operating an Instagram account allegedly posted obscene and sexually explicit comments, sent abusive messages, and made derogatory remarks about her religion through the social media platform.
The complainant alleged that the acts outraged her modesty and deliberately insulted her religious sentiments.
Police have registered the case against the unknown accused and initiated an investigation to identify the account holder and verify the allegations.
Further investigation is being carried out by PI Melson Colaco of Curchorem Police Station.
