CURTORIM: A woman from Bhatti, Curtorim, has allegedly lost ₹1.6 lakh after an unknown person fraudulently deducted the amount from her Union Bank of India account without her knowledge.
According to Maina Curtorim Police, complainant Nancy Mellita Cardozo, a resident of Bhatti, Curtorim, reported that on May 8, 2026, at around 10:58 a.m., a sum of ₹1,60,000 was automatically deducted from her Union Bank of India account without her authorisation.
Based on her complaint, police have registered a case against unknown accused persons for allegedly cheating and causing wrongful financial loss to the complainant.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Ashutosh Naik of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
