PARRA: A 45-year-old woman was robbed of her gold mangalsutra, valued at around Rs 2 lakh, in a daring daylight theft near the Parra junction on Friday afternoon.
Two masked men riding a motorcycle were responsible for the crime.
The victim was walking along the roadside when the two men, wearing helmets and face coverings, approached her on a black two-wheeler.
In a quick and sudden move, the pillion rider snatched her gold mangalsutra, and the duo sped off in the direction of the Parra petrol pump.
Shaken by the incident, the woman quickly alerted local residents and notified the police.
A case has been registered at the Mapusa Police Station, and authorities have launched an investigation.
Police teams are examining CCTV footage from nearby locations, including the petrol pump and adjacent roads, to track down the criminals and identify the vehicle used in the theft.
The police have assured the public that they are taking swift action to apprehend the culprits.
