SANKHALI: World Homoeopathy Day 2026 was observed in Goa at Sai Nursing Institute, Sankhali, bringing together healthcare professionals, academicians and practitioners to promote the role of homoeopathy in preventive and holistic healthcare. The event also marked the 271st birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann.
Organised by the Goa Homoeopathy Council in collaboration with Shri Kamaxidevi Homoeopathic Medical College, the programme was held under the theme “Homoeopathy for Sustainable Health,” focusing on integrated healthcare systems and accessibility.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant emphasised the importance of prevention and early diagnosis, stating that timely intervention can save lives. He highlighted the government’s focus on expanding healthcare services, promoting affordability, and strengthening preventive care initiatives across the state.
He also underlined the growing role of AYUSH in enhancing India’s healthcare ecosystem and promoting traditional systems of medicine globally. The government, he said, is committed to boosting medical education, research and infrastructure, while supporting homoeopathy institutions and advancing wellness and health tourism.
The event also included the felicitation of homoeopathy practitioners for their contributions. Several dignitaries and experts from the healthcare sector attended the programme.
