The Locals were firmly suspect that some mining firms discharging waste mining slurry into river after processing which is cause of pollution of muddy water flowing in river while WRD Engineers claims it may due to heavy rain in Ghat area or landslides of river bank.

However locals were not ready to buy the version of WRD Engineers . Following this WRD Minister directed to conduct inspection of river at least twice and submit report in fifteen days .

WRD Minister Subash Shirodkar during his visit to Dharbandora Taluka for hearing the grievances of locals assured them to find out the cause of Dudhsagar river pollution and this regard Committee headed by Dharbandora Mamlatdar , three local Sarpanchas and WRD Engineer who had been asked to submit report by 31 October .

The anger of the people has increased since past many days due to the muddy water in the river Dudhsagar. Since the past few days, the locals have also warned to block the road due to the frequent flow of muddy water. The same water treated at downstream at OPA Treatment Plant and supplied to Ponda and Tiswadi.

Meanwhile, to solve the mystery of muddy water committee has been selected. Therefore, the locals have postponed the decision to stage agitation .

A committee of Sarpanchas three Panchayats namely Kale, Kirlapal Dabal and Dharbadoda panchayats has been selected along with taluka Mameldar Laxmikant Kuttikar to find the source of the muddy water. South Goa Executive Engineer of Water Resources Department Ankush Gawkar has also been included in the committee.

Environmentalist Sandeep Parkar at OPA Khandepar had filed complaint with Pollution Control Board over muddy water flowing at OPA water Treatment Plant. Since 2019 he is raising concern over muddy water. He again filed complaint and Pollution Board inspected river but he is not given any report about it.
