FATORDA: A 20-year-old man, identified as Jerrico D’Costa from Madel-Fatorda, was found dead along the railway tracks near Margao station early Wednesday morning. Authorities believe he was struck by a passing train, leading to his death on the spot.
Konkan Railway Police Station In-charge PI Gudlar stated that there is no indication of foul play, and the family of the deceased does not suspect any criminal involvement. The incident is believed to have occurred in the early hours of Wednesday.
D’Costa had traveled to Mumbai for visa document stamping and was scheduled to return home by train. His body was discovered by a railway trackman.
A post-mortem was conducted at the South District Hospital, and the police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
