PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today has assured 3 percent increment for Balrath Employees on a yearly basis.
The assurance was given by CM Sawant on the floor of the house.
“There will be salary hike for Balrath employees, every year 3% increment, salary for 12 months,” said Sawant
The Opposition demanded Rs 20,000 salary for drivers and Rs14.5 k pay for drivers & attendants.
State Education Dept had said that they have increased the salary of the drivers and the attendants by Rs 1,000.
With the rise, salary of driver would be Rs 12,000 and that of the attendant would be Rs 6,000. Expressing displeasure over the nominal hike, the employees have decided to go on strike from tomorrow over their demand for salary hike and regularisation.
Until last academic year, the balrath employees were paid for only ten months.
Zingade said that the schools would be paid one time installment of Rs 4.17 lakh as against the current assistance of Rs 3.66 lakh and that the grants will also keep changing by 5 per cent rise every year. “The institutions will have to pay to the employees from the grants received,” he said.
