PANAJI: To help the Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) in North and South Goa determine the seriousness of juvenile offenses and make recommendations regarding whether cases should be handled by the Boards or sent to the Goa Children’s Court, the State government has assembled a four-member panel.
The panel will include a representative of ARZ NGO (Anyay Rahit Zindagi), an assistant professor from V M Salgaoncar College of Law in Miramar, a doctor nominated by the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behavior (IPHB), Bambolim, and the chairperson of the North and South Goa Child Welfare Committee.
The Juvenile Justice Boards in North and South Goa have also had their terms extended by the state government by an additional three months, or until the new boards are constituted.
