Individuals from the disabled community sell their ware at the atrium at Caculo Mall as part of the Independence day celebrations in collaboration with the Disability Rights Association of Goa (DRAG). The event puts the spotlight on and celebrates the lives of the disabled and the underprivileged citizens of Goa.
As part of this celebration, Empowerment Pop-Up was organised by specially abled displaying their work. The chief guest for the day was Krunal Thakur, final year law student along with Shamik Caculo, Director at Caculo Mall; Prakash Kamat, Senior Journalist and disability activist, and Avelino De Sa, President of Disability Rights Association of Goa.
Shamik Caculo along with the other dignitaries for the day released the 5th newsletter of DRAG called Disability News which highlights various job opportunities and news from Goan.
The three day programme will have stalls put up by the specially abled at the atrium in Caculo Mall to sell their products as well as DRAG will host educational sessions on topics such as sign language, financial planning, the rights of people with disabilities.
