PANAJI: Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHE) today declared that 92.75% of the SSC students passed in the results announced on Wednesday evening, much lower than the 99.72% who passed the previous year.
Out of the 20,345 students that were for the SSC, 18,869 passed. A mere 99 students have been placed under reserve.
As per information, from the 10,309 boys, 9,491 passed, taking the pass percentage to 91.62 per cent. In terms of 9,986 girls, 9,378 passed taking the total percentage to 93.91 per cent.
“This time, the pass percentage of 92.75 per cent is the highest as compared to 99.72 per cent last year; the Examination was conducted at 31 Examination centres and 173 subcentres across the State. for the first time, both the Terminal Examinations were conducted simultaneously for SSC & HSSC,” said GBSHE Chairman Bhagirath Shetye.
He further said that to deal with the school closures and challenges of conducting exams due to the pandemic spread during the academic year 2021-2022, the Board adopted the special assessment scheme.
“The special assessment scheme included two Terminal Board Examinations, 1st Term
(MCQ’s/Subjective) Exam Dec-Jan 2021-22 and 2nd Term (Subjective) April 2022. Each paper was of 90 minutes duration and based on 50% of the portion.
Shetye said that the final result is prepared, which includes performance of the First Term exam (50% portion), Second Term exam (50% portion) and performance of Internal Assessment (20%).
“246 Students passed the examination taking the benefit of 7th subject; 91 Secondary Schools offered NSQF Subjects for 2022 SSC Examinations,” he added
Number of candidates who availed Sports Merit Marks: 916; Number of candidates who have passed the exam with the help of Sports Merit Marks: 17Overall Percentage of candidates passing the examination with the help of Sports Merit Marks 0.090%.
“There is no separate mark sheet for the Term 1 & Term 2 exam. Only one mark sheet will be issued by combining the performance of Term 1, Term 2 and Internal Assessment. The Consolidated Result Sheet will feature a performance of Term 1 Exam and Term 2 Exams, which will be available on the school portal from 03/06/2022,” he added.
