PANAJI: The Priority Gaspar Dias Open All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament has reached an exhilarating climax with Aaron Farias and Rishan Shaikh set to face off in the U17 boys finals, while Yug Prabhu will challenge Ishaan Colaso for the U11 boys title. This annual event, organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias in aegis with the Goa Table Tennis Association, has showcased the outstanding talent and fierce competition at the club’s premises in Miramar.
Aaron and Rishan both endured tough semi-final matches, each securing hard-fought 3-1 victories over Atharv Dhulapkar and Chandan Caro, respectively, in the U17 boys category. In the U11 boys semi-finals, Yug Prabhu overcame Yuvaan Sanke 3-1 to set up a thrilling final against Ishaan Colaso, who decisively defeated Kaushik Nair 3-0 in the other semi-final.
The U17 boys quarter-finals saw Aaron Farias sweep past Chinmay Bakhare 3-0, Atharv Dhulapkar narrowly edge out Dhruva Kamat 3-2, Rishan Shaikh defeat Khushal Naik 3-1, and Chandan Caro overpower Surendra Chube 3-0.
In the women’s semi-finals, Pradnya Caro made a remarkable comeback from a 4-point deficit in the final game to narrowly beat Ishita Colaso 3-2 in a gripping match. Neeza Kamat secured her spot in the final by defeating Aditi Chodankar 3-1. Pradnya Caro, Neeza Kamat, and Ishita Colaso are all in contention for a double crown in the girls’ category, adding to the excitement. In the men’s category, Aaron Farias, Anshuman Agarwal, Arvind Kumar, Chandan Caro, Diljit Velingkar, Khushal Naik, Nagesh Verenker, and Rishan Shaikh have advanced to the top eight.
