VASCO: Agriculture minister Ravi Naik on Saturday visited Vasco to offer prayers to Lord Damodar on the occasion of Saptah along with Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar.
Speaking to the media later, Nak said that an agricultural College was planned in Goa.
“As an agricultural minister, we will start taking up on the bandhs that may have been broken once the monsoons are over. We are also starting an agricultural College in Old Goa. I have already discussed this with CM Dr Pramod Sawant, who is also the Education minister. We want to have this college to motivate Goans to farm and protect our land for future generations,” he said.
He added, “We are also starting a coconut corporation so that farmers get good rates for the coconuts.”
Speaking on the controversy of toor dal, he said the toor dal was procured during Covid times, when he was not the ministerm, and it remained in the godown and has got spoilt.
“It is unfit for consumption for humans and animals, and a tender has been floated for the disposal of the toor dal that has got spoilt in the Godown,” said Naik.
Naik said that he had visited the Damodar temple on the occasion of Saptah
“Saptah has been a festival that has been celebrated for years, and devotees of Lord Damodar arrive from across Goa. I have arrived at the temple too.seek the blessings of Lord Damodar, and I extend my best wishes to all the devotees and Goans in Goa,” said Naik.
