CANACONA: A bike rally was held at Cabo-de-Ram with a theme and awareness on ‘Save water, Save Soil’.
The rally was attended by Quepem MLA and later addressed by Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar at a brief function held inside the fort of Cabo-de-Rama in Khola village.
Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa congratulated the Agriculture department and applauded all the participants said, maintaining and conserving nature in its true form is a real development. We cannot and should not ignore nature while doing any developmental work; it can lead to problems.
Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar, speaking as the chief guest for the function, said, ‘Intelligent youths should take the initiative for the protection of nature. Today’s youth, however, have a negative way, and it is very much essential to change the mindset of these youth. Modern technology and chemical fertilizers have increased so much that the use of organic fertilizers is decreasing. And the consequences of this will be felt shortly, for that, everyone needs to wake up now.
The bike rally was organized by the Directorate of Agriculture, with the presence of Director of Agriculture Neville Alphonso, Director of Archives Department Nilesh Phaldesai, and some members of Khola Panchayat were present.
The entire program was coordinated by Assistant Director of Agriculture Department Anant Hole, while vote of thanks was given by Assistant Agriculture Officer Nilesh Khanwilkar.
