PONDA: Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) leader Sudin Dhavlikar slammed Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on his statement about the Portuguese’s temples and their reconstruction. Sudin claimed that the temples destroyed before were also rebuilt by our forefathers during the Portuguese era itself.
During a public meeting at Mhardol in Ponda taluka, MGP leader Sudin Dhavlikar took potshots at the Goa CM Dr Sawant and stated that the temples destroyed by the Portuguese were rebuilt way back during the Colonial time by our forefathers. He further questioned where were those temples now were damaged? Sudin said the Chief Minister is ignorant about the history of temples in Goa.
Dhavlikar, in a public meeting, claimed that the BJP on the name of Hindutva and Hinduism is splitting people. He also challenged CM Sawant to show at least one temple built by Sawant since his birth. He said BJP today ruined the education system and future of students in Goa due to lack of planning and not providing proper infrastructure.
Dhavlikar offered prayers to Goddess Mahalasa at Mardol temple. On occasion, present were BJP President Deepak Dhavlikar, BJP Candidate Balaji Gawas, Pravin Arlekar, Dr. Ketan Bhatikar, Sanket Mule former working President Narayan Sawant and Panchmembers and Sarpanches of various panchayats of Priol and Marcaim were present.
Further commenting on the MGP- TMC alliance, Dhavlikar said that an alliance with TMC was formed to show the corrupt BJP Government road back to home. It is for the downfall of the BJP Government. He urged voters in Goa, “it’s time to send home the corrupt BJP government by reducing it to a single digit. He said If BJP again comes to power, it will be doom to Goans.
He demanded a Rs 70 crore job scam inquiry through CBI, as alleged by MLA Babush Monserrate. He said the PDA, TCP, and Revenue departments were too involved in corrupt and money-making practices. He said BJP is misleading people by conducting the transfer of the Inquiry officer Ankita And appointed to probe the job scam.
Dhavlikar refuted BJP’s claim that the MGP alliance with TMC is unholy. He said 72 per cent of MLAs in the West Bengal Assembly are Hindus led by CM Mamta Bannerji. He said BJP is misleading people by raising the Rohinga issue connected with WB CM Mamta Didi. He said Mamta Didi is well educated and wrote 104 books. He questioned BJP if it is Hindutavadi, then why it halted the Rs 3 Crore religious development work at Tapobhumi Kundaim initiated by him.
He criticized the BJP government for spending Rs 18 crore out of Rs 300 sanctioned by the Central Government for Goa Liberation on useless programmes. It failed to make good use of money for Goa liberation. He questioned why BJP did not construct the houses of flood victims, provide compensation to farmers, and money to families of covid victims.
MGP Leader Deepak Dhavlikar urged voters to elect the MGP-TMC government to bring a new dawn in Goa. He said BJP is bittered with its possible defeat and is spreading rumours about the MGP-TMC alliance to confuse voters and table it a tag of anti-Hindu for vested interest. He assured the voters of the Rs 5000 monthly Griha Laxmi scheme to Goans. If voters don’t send the BJP at home, then they will just suffer,” Dhavlikar added.
