New Delhi: At least 19 people have died in Nagaland over the past two days after allegedly consuming suspected spurious liquor, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the source and distribution of the liquor. Eight deaths were reported in Mokokchung district, while Tuensang district recorded 11 fatalities. The deaths have raised concerns over the circulation of adulterated liquor in the state, where prohibition has been in force since 1990.
