PANAJI: The Goa University Inter Collegiate Football Championship 2026-27 for Men witnessed a mix of high scoring victories and penalty shootout drama on Day 2 at venues across Goa on September 25.
At the Goa University Ground, Taleigao, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Margao advanced after receiving a walkover against Goa College of Music, Altinho.
Kamaxi College of Culinary Arts edged HPSM’s Ganpat Parsekar College of Education 4-3 on penalties after the match ended 1-1 in regulation time. Varad Satarkar put Ganpat Parsekar ahead in the 35th minute, but Arnav Naik equalised for Kamaxi in the 40th minute. Kamaxi converted four penalties through Warren Garis, Jordan D’Souza, Azhaan Wadi and Gokul, while Viddesh Faraz, Samesh Gawade and Sujay Gaonkar scored for Ganpat Parsekar.
V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Goa College of Art, Altinho. Aalok Halarnkar opened the scoring in the 21st minute before Reuben Rodrigues struck twice in the 27th and 60th minutes.
At Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao, Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim produced the biggest win of the day, defeating HPSM’s College of Nursing, Arambol 7-0. Nikhil Kolkar scored twice, in the first and 20th minutes, while Tejas Konkalkar, Vinay Vark, Gaurang Moraykar, Ismail Shaikh and Bhagesh Marulkar also found the net.
Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Margao progressed after a goalless draw against VVM G. R. Kare College of Law, Margao. Chowgule College won the penalty shootout 4-3, with Deepak Sahu, Jonathan Leitao, Sooraj Rathod and Edson D’Sa converting. Rui Noronha, Atmaram Jadhav and Vedang Naik scored for Kare College.
The championship continues on September 26 with matches scheduled at Goa University Ground, Rosary College Ground and Chowgule College Ground.
