PANAJI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned against heavy rainfall during the day in Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Goa. These places are on orange alert, hinting at the possibility of heavy precipitation. Goemkarponn Desk PANAJI: Goa Government today has increased the financial health insurance coverage under Goa Mediclaim Scheme from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. The income limit to avail the scheme has also been increased to Rs 8 lakh per annum. “All permanent residents of Goa residing in Goa for last 15 years and figuring in the voters list, including minor dependents, whose family income does not exceed Rs. 8,00,000/- per annum, shall be eligible for the medical facilities under Goa Mediclaim Scheme,” states the notification issued in this regards.

Goemkarponn Desk MARGAO: A 48-year-old lady pedestrian died at Margao after she was hit by a bus at Margao. The deceased is identified as Sheela Botekar. She was hit by the bus while she was trying to cross the road near SBI Margao. She was grievously injured in the accident and later succumbed to injuries.

New Delhi: In a significant move, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has amended the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019 enhancing some powers of the Lieutenant Governor of the erstwhile state.
