The Minister for Transport Mauvin Godinho today justified State’s decision to hike VAT on petrol and diesel stating that the money is needed for infrastructure development and social schemes. Godinho also said that unless road infrastructure is improved, State will not go ahead with the implementation of the new Motor Vehicle Act. “This is a pandemic times.
