Commercial Tax Department has initiated action against those firms which are big tax defaulters and have been avoiding paying tax due to the Government. 77 such defaulter firms have been identified from whom around Rs. 120 Cr. is recoverable in the form of Tax, Interest and Penalty. Porvorim: Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte on Wednesday criticized the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) and the consultant for High Court building project for not conducting proper study before starting the project.
