New Delhi: Rescue operations in Nepal intensified on Tuesday as teams continued searching for thousands of people missing after catastrophic floods struck the Nepal China border region nearly a week ago. The disaster has now claimed more than 1,000 lives across Nepal and Tibet, while over 4,400 people remain missing. A major focus of the rescue effort is the country’s hydropower sector, where hundreds of workers are feared to be trapped inside tunnels buried under mud and debris.
