VASCO: Swatantraveer Sawarkar’s main auditorium from Ravindra Bhavan Baina is likely to be operational by the next two months.
The artists from Vasco and nearby areas will once again get a platform to present their art forms on a bigger stage.
Ravindra Bhavan Baina chairman Jayant Jadhav has assured that the main Swatantraveer Sawarkar auditorium, which was closed for almost two years, will likely get operational within the next two months.
Jadhav said there was some technical lag regarding air cooling technology’s air conditioning system. This air conditioning system, exposed directly to the saline air of Baina beach, got corroded. Further, during the Covid19 pandemic time, the main auditorium rained shut.
He further added that the file related to the new air conditioning system based on the water-cooled technology is with the PWD officials in Margao. Within two months, the issue regarding the AC system will be sorted out, and the main auditorium will be made operational on which the local artists will get a platform to present and witness the art forms,” he said.
A month ago, the Art and Culture minister Govind Gaude visited the Ravindra Bhavan Baina and reviewed the situation at Ravindra Bhavan Baina. During the visit, the minister had also assured to expedite the work to set up new water-cooled technology, run air conditioning and make the main auditorium functional soon.
