PANAJI: The High Court of Bombay at Goa today has ordered accused Paresh Sawardekar’s wife Meghana to deposit Rs 2 crore in the court, which could later be given as compensation to the victims.
The Court was hearing Meghana Sawardekar’s petition challenging summons by the Mardol Police.
Statement of owner of car Meghna Sawardekar was recorded before magistrate in Ponda. Recording of statement went on for almost three hours.
One child of three children present in the car was also present during recording of the statement.
The statements of remaining two children will be recorded soon. Earlier, High Court had extended the judicial custody of Paresh Sawardekar in view of recording of statement of Meghna Sawardekar before Magistrate.
As the investigation progresses, the team has received a directive to prepare a detailed progress report every fortnight. This report will be submitted to the SP (Crime Branch) Nidhin Valsan.
