PANAJI: The High Court of Bombay at Goa today has adjourned the hearing on bail plea of accused Paresh Sawardekar in the Banastari Fatal accident case.
Paresh is currently in judicial custody and is lodged in the Colvale jail.
The court of the judicial magistrate first class, Ponda had remanded him first to two days and then to five days police custody, which was extended by a day.
He has been accused of driving the car in a rash and negligent manner while under the influence of alcohol. Paresh has already approached the High Court for bail.
Three people including a couple from Diwar had died in the accident while 3 others have been seriously injured.
Shripad alias Paresh A Sinai Sawardekar,48, “under the influence of alcohol, drove his car in a rash and negligent manner endangering human life” while proceeding from Ponda in the direction of Panaji.
The complaint said that when the accused reached near Banastari bridge, he drove the SUV across the central solid line of the road and went into the right lane, crashing into two motorcycles and a car.
Due to the collision’s impact, one of the motorcycles rammed into at least two cars. One of the victims was flung from a vehicle and fell under the bridge.
