PORVORIM: Reacting to the Banastari Bridge fatal accident last night, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that there is no issue of law and order and that the government is ready to make laws implementation stricter.
“There is no issue of law and order, and the government is ready to make laws implementation stricter,” said Sawant.
He further said that the police cannot stop each other cars on Goan roads for checking.
Leader of Opposition (LoP) raised the issue of the Banastari fatal accident during the zero-hour mention And demanded stringent actions against the Violators of Rules of Motor Vehicle Act.
He also demanded Government must act to control rising accidents.
In a major accident involving six vehicles at Banastari in Ponda on Sunday night, three people were left dead while three others were left seriously injured.
A high-end car entered the main road from the wrong side resulting in the accident and its driver is absconding, police said.
