PONDA: The allegations of scam in Sopo collection issue dominated the Bandora Gramsabha on Sunday.
Following allegations by villagers about unauthorised person collecting sopo tax the Bandora Sarpanch decided to file FIR at Police Station and assured conduct inquiry.
According to locals Panchayat has deputed it’s employee to collect sopo taxes but at the same time one unauthorised person was collecting sopo taxes from vendors and eating revenue of Panchayat.
The locals also produced receipts of unauthorised sopo tax collection issued to vendors by unknown accused as proof to prove their claims where in receipts having name of Bandora Panchayat is used.
Locals said panchayat body is losing revenue due to unauthorised sopo collection and demanded inquiry to punish guilty and also demanded to frame rules for collection of sopo tax to prevent fraud in future.
Sarpanch Sukanand Kurpaskar assured to verify the receipts and to file FIR at Police Station against unauthorised person demanding to conduct probe and punish him.
