PONDA: Bandora Sarpanch Rajesh Naik filed a complaint at Ponda Police Station today against unknown persons for setting on fire Bandora wet waste disposal plant.
According to Sarpanch, the incident occurred on 12 March at 1.30 pm. Soon after the news of fire he called Ponda fire personnel and doused the fire after a one-hour effort. The fire was enormous, and in the process, not only garbage caught fire but also Panchayat suffered a loss of Rs three lakh as compound wall and garbage shed damaged and suffered losses.
He said while inspecting the CCTV footage; it was found that some unknown person was seen coming on the bike at the garbage plant who set it on fire. He said CCTV would be handed over to the police. He said strict action would be taken against the accused, whose intention might cause damage to the garbage plant.
