We strongly believe that it is crucial to provide opportunities to young individuals who aspire to venture into the shack business and carry forward the rich experience of their families. Simultaneously, we are also committed to extending the same chance to those who solely rely on the shack business as their source of livelihood”
He said today, through this forum, we aim to inspire and encourage our esteemed shack community to wholeheartedly support and nurture the next generation, ensuring their seamless progression within this industry. Furthermore, he emphasised the importance of preserving and showcasing Goan cuisine at every shack, as the shack operators themselves have been vital ambassadors for our culture ever since the inception of shacks.

Under this groundbreaking policy, shack owners will enjoy several benefits, including the allowance of deck beds, tables, chairs, and picket fencing.
In an effort to stimulate economic growth and enhance visitor experiences, shack owners can now place deck beds, tables, and chairs within a larger area of 15 metres in front of their shacks.
The association has recently deliberated upon and embraced the relaxation of the age limit within the shack policy, incorporating its core ideals of inclusivity and community.
This relaxation of the age limit is a testament to the association’s commitment to celebrate diversity, encourages mentorship, and facilitates the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
This meeting presented a valuable opportunity for fruitful dialogues, idea exchanges, and collaborative efforts to enhance the tourism industry’s benefits for the youth, locals and tourists.
